Background and experience
James’s teaching and leadership was in disadvantaged primary schools with high levels of SEND, EAL and pupils with interrupted or no education. He understands well the associated challenges of social cohesion, aspiration and spiritual development, and brings that lived experience to every school he works with.
His background and first love is primary education, but he has worked widely with secondary schools and tertiary education. Before becoming a teacher, James was a BBC journalist, and he brings additional expertise in communication, community engagement and real-world literacy.
